Travelling in a train ? Here are some of the do's and don't for you.

1. Be there in time.

Yes, many a times the trains arrive/depart late. But its always better to be there ahead of the departure time. Leave home early. The train will not wait for you.

2. Keep an identity proof.

Its always good to carry an identity proof. And a compulsion when travelling.

3. Check your tickets before you leave your place.

Make sure you carry the tickets along with you when you leave home. You wouldn’t want to be in a soup when the TC arrives.

4. Keep the toilets clean after your use.

If you want the toilets to be clean before you use it, better keep it that way when you are done. Flush.

5. Mind the lower berths.

If you are allotted the upper berth, make sure you do not bother the lower/middle berth passengers.

6. Keep a good book with you.

Reading a good book in your journey is a good way to utilise your time. Always carry a good book with you.

7. Watching a movie is not a bad idea to pass time.

This is another good way to pass time in your journey. But make sure the co-passengers are not bothered. Always carry ear-phones.

8. Keep the emergency contacts with you. Or at least know where to find them.

You never know when you would need help. So make sure you have the emergency contacts when you are travelling. Or know where the contacts are listed in your compartment.

9. Do not leave your things unattended.

You wouldn’t want your things to be stolen. So make sure you lock your things or have someone look after them when you have to be away.

10. Travel light as much as possible.

If you want to enjoy the journey, travel with as less luggage as possible, unless you have to.

11. Do not eat from or offer anything to strangers.

You may have made good friends in the train, but you wouldn’t want to take the risk of eating anything they offer.

12. Do not litter.

Its you who have to be there for quiet sometime. So keep it clean. And inspire others.

13. Enjoy the journey.

You have 2 options. Be irritated by the journey, or enjoy it. Look around. Look at the people inside the train. Make friends. Look outside. Enjoy the beauty. Enjoy your journey.

14. Don’t leave anything behind.

Make sure you check all your belongings before you leave.
